This document explains how Patina collects and looks after the personal information you share with us, and what rights you have over that information.
Last updated:
1. Who we are
Patina is a watch repair and servicing workshop located at 12 Thanon Tha Phae, Chang Moi, Muang, Chiang Mai 50300, Thailand. We operate this website at patinat.blog and are responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
You may contact us at any time on the details in section 10 below.
2. What we collect
We collect only the information that is genuinely useful for looking after you and your watch. This falls into two categories.
Information you give us directly
- Your name, email address, and telephone number when you use our contact form or reach out directly
- Details of your watch — make, model, reference, and any notes you include about the work you're seeking
- Correspondence, including emails and messages, where you communicate with us
Information collected automatically
- Standard server log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps
- Analytics data via cookies (where you have consented), used to understand how visitors find and read this site
We do not collect payment card details. All payments are handled in person or via our payment provider, which operates under its own privacy terms.
3. How we use it
We use the information we hold for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry and, where work proceeds, to manage your service record
- To maintain a workshop archive of serviced pieces, which we may share with you on request
- To send updates about work in progress — we do not send promotional email unless you have asked for it
- To understand how our website is used and to make it more useful to visitors
- To meet our obligations under Thai law
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the following grounds under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA) and, where applicable, equivalent international frameworks:
- Contractual necessity — where processing is required to carry out a service you have requested
- Legitimate interests — for workshop record-keeping and site analytics, where these do not override your own interests
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, where you have indicated agreement via our cookie notice
- Legal obligation — where Thai law requires us to retain records
5. Storage and retention
Your data is stored on servers located within the European Economic Area or with providers that offer equivalent protections. We do not sell or transfer your personal data to parties outside our supply chain.
Contact and enquiry records are held for three years from the date of last contact, or for the duration of an active service relationship. Workshop archive records for serviced pieces are retained indefinitely as part of our service history, but may be erased on request where no ongoing obligation applies.
6. Third parties
We share personal data with third parties only when necessary. These include:
- Our hosting and email service providers, who process data only on our instruction
- Analytics providers (such as Google Analytics), where you have consented to analytics cookies
- Our accountant and, if required, regulatory authorities, where Thai law obliges us to share information
We do not share your data with advertisers or other commercial third parties.
7. Your rights
Under the PDPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request erasure of data we no longer have a lawful reason to retain
- Restrict or object to certain types of processing
- Withdraw consent for cookie-based analytics at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) if you believe your rights have not been respected
To exercise any of these rights, please write to us using the contact details in section 10. We aim to respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the date at the top of the page will change. If any change materially affects how we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention.
We encourage you to review this page periodically.
